Dear Dr. Samra,

I didn’t want to cause you undue pressure, so I chose not to disclose prior to surgery exactly whose body you were restoring! There are five little children who truly believe I am Wonder Woman and many adults in my aura who aren’t quite sure I am not!

That being said, the real super hero is you! You made a very difficult time in may life so much easier by treating the “whole person” and not just the “body part” as so many physicians do.

I am truly thankful to you for answering all my questions so thoroughly and anticipating the ones I didn’t know to ask. You never made be feel rushed and I thank you for your patience, good humor and easy manner and, most importantly, your surgical skills. I had not one moment of apprehension before either of my two surgeries as I was confident I was in the best hands! So many Samra’s and I undoubtedly chose the right one!

And the most unexpected of all, I am very grateful to you for giving me the body I had no idea I even wanted!!

I, for one, am glad you didn’t become a ski instructor!
