The patient knew she was going to get her painful hernia fixed however, she wanted to know if it made sense to use the opportunity to have a tummy tuck as well. It is quite common that women combine abdominoplasty with hernia surgery. They are already under anesthesia having abdominal surgery. Once the hernia is repaired by a general surgeon, the plastic surgeon can follow to perform the tummy tuck. Ultimately, the patient is able to have two fixes in one outpatient surgery.
